Hello, Just A Note To Get Started

Well, we did it. By the insisting of abandoned in pasadena (mom) we decided to give the blogging a try. First I will tell you a little bit about ourselves. I am Mama Bear. Sometimes Papa Bear may want to write and Baby Bear also, so we decided to do a family blog. I have been reading sevearal blog sites faithfully everyday. I really enjoy reading them but when it comes to writing my own I am a bit nervous about it. Not sure of what to say or how it will come out or if it sounds silly or what. It is very hard to write when you know lots of people are going to read it. And then again, maybe no one will. Oh well, I just wanted to write about my family and everday happenings. That way when my children get older they can look back and read these. I know I enjoy reading my mother-in-laws a lot and have found a few things about her that I didn't know. It is very late so I am going to go for now but will be back to write some more. I got this started late. By the way, it is almost March the 2nd so I want to wish Papa Bear a Happy Birthday. We love you very much Papa Bear. And Hello to all that is reading this.

welcome to the world of blogging. interesting feature about bloggspot is that you can click on 'next blog' top right corner, and you go to an apparently not-so-random blog ... mentioning some things in my profile or elsewhere in my blog seems to somehow link the 'next blog' button to someone that has some sort of connection -- however tenuous -- to something i've written or mentione.

anyway, hope you enjoy this!

What a surprise to get up this morning and find out that you have started your own blog!! And I see that someone has already been here before me to offer you help on navigating around.

Your introduction is great...you should go back to see everyone else's first post...You have done an excellent job.

Try not to be nervous. This is YOUR blog and whatever you say is fine. If you like you can remain anonymous to friends & family until you think you are ready to COME OUT, so to speak...but personally I think you are ready.

The way I keep myself from being nervous is to pretend that I am just writing an email and sharing information to a close friend or family member. But I'm not nervous anymore.

I can't stress enough how beautifully you have written your first post...I really enjoyed reading it...and I'm so happy that you have taken this first step in starting your own blog. I like the name that you have chosen for yourselves too. Welcome aboard.

BTW = by the way
LOL = lots of laughs or sometimes lots of love
VBG = very big grin
VBS = very big smile
S = smile
(I didn't know these so I asked my good friend Finn)

Wow! This is so exciting. I had just published my first blog when all of a sudden I got my first comment, what a surprise that was and a very exciting experience! Thank you Kenney for the nice words and welcoming me you made my day. And Abandoned in Pasadena I just wanted to say thank you so much for your very nice comments and for persuading, or should I say encouraging, us to start this. I will sure need your advice on how to get the kinks out of everything. Thanks so much for making us feel welcome. Mama Bear

LOL also means "laughing out loud"; ROFL means "rolling on the floor laughing"; LMAO means "laughing my a** off"; ROFLLMAO means, you guessed it, a combination of the previoius two. There are many more. All these terms come from text messaging and instant messaging "shorthand". I use some occasionally.

Anyway, welcome to the blogosphere with all the rest of the people who have no lives (except to get online and read/write blogs all day). You will find that there are some of us who are so obsessed that we get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, or whatever, and find themselves getting online just to check if there are any new posts or comments. I did that at 4 this morning and didn't get back to bed until 5:30. Here it is 9:30 and I'm back online for another couple of hours. How crazy is that.

The good thing is that you will have so much fun blogging and meeting such interesting people. It doesn't matter whether you can write well or spell correctly or whether you're a scientific genius. Everybody has an interesting story to tell and to talk about, even if it's about the weather, your kids, your/their health, your yard, your adventures, philosphy, politics, being crazy/sick, or being funny. It's all interesting because the world outside of your own small circle is an interesting place. So, don't worry about it but have fun. You will meet a lot of really neat people, such as Four Bears in the Woods!

MotherKitty...I have always wondered what LMAO meant but was too shy to ask. Nice to know that there are more meanings to LOL too. Maybe when we're laughing out loud it can be LOL!

I also got up at 5:30am this morning to check for comments...crazy.
But also to put Papa Bears birthday post up.
I went back to bed at 8am and got up at 9...and here I am still.

I have really got to go take a shower.
